Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan lashed out at Cabinet minister Thérèse Coffey for saying that she was "proud" of the government's testing during the coronavirus pandemic - branding it "scandalous".

After the Tory MP refused to come onto GMB today as part of the government's 21-day boycott of the ITV programme, Piers looked at what she had said on their rival show.

Piers interrupted Dr Hilary, who they had been talking to regarding her comments about President Trump taken an unproven drug to prevent coronavirus, as he read out her comments in shock.

He said: "Sorry about this - I've just seen something. Thérèse Coffey on BBC Breakfast... wow. "She's just said we can look back on our testing, how we increased capacity, with pride.
