Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan is no stranger to criticism, but it appears to have been ramped up of late. The Good Morning Britain presenter says he has been sent death threats from people for the way he has ‘challenged’ the government over the coronavirus crisis.

Others have sent foul mouthed abuse and petitioned for him to be fired from his role on the ITV breakfast programme, which he co-hosts with Susanna Reid.

Piers, 55, has made no secret of his mission to hold the government to account over the way it is handing the pandemic. He has criticised issues such as the lack of testing front line workers and personal protective equipment available to them.
