Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan was forced to apologise on Good Morning Britain today. The GMB presenter was holding a discussion on whether the government should scrap the £624 NHS charge for migrant care workers.

And Susanna Reid's co-star made an awkward error when talking to guest Andrew Pierce. Piers, 55, asked Andrew during the discussion: "Can we possibly look them in the eye and say we're going to charge you another £624." The GMB guest replied: "I think it's right the government bring in a surcharge to ensure migrants who come here for the first time should pay towards the NHS because it's costing us a lot of money, but..." He was interrupted as Piers fumed: "They're paying taxes Andrew, why do you think it's a good idea?" Continuing, Andrew added:
