When we manage to grab a moment with a slightly breathless Sara Davies, it's not long before we get a glimpse into her hectic life as a working mum.The Dragons' Den star, 40, who became the youngest ever female investor on the show in 2019, has just stepped off stage after interviewing Lisa Nandy, the UK's Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, at the government's Creative Industries Growth Summit in Gateshead.

After our conversation, she'll be heading back home to Teesside where she lives with her husband, Simon, and their two boys.

Her day started early too, she reveals, as she's "been up since 5am on a big business negotiation for Crafter's Companion in China".

Just hearing about her daily tasks is tiring, so where does she find the motivation? "My dad instilled in me that as long as you genuinely love what you do, you don't work a day in your life, and that's honestly how I feel," she shares. "I'm all about energy exchange, and as much as it's taken a load of fuel out of my tank to get the emotional energy to deliver that [interview], because of the energy I felt in that room, I feel like I've actually just had a hose pipe plugged into me pumping petrol in." Another major source of inspiration is her husband Simon, who she's been with since she was 15.The pair tied the knot in 2007 and have two children - Oliver, 11, and Charlie, eight, reports the Mirror. "Even after 25 years, I still absolutely idolise the ground he walks on," she gushes.

MAHA Commission Draws Swift Criticism, Condemnation
February 18, 2025The Trump administration’s recently established Make America Healthy Again Commission has come under fire from medical experts and patient advocacy groups for singling out autism spectrum disorder and ADHD, saying the “over-utilization of medication” for those and other conditions “pose a dire threat to the American people and our way of life.” The commission, which will be chaired by the newly confirmed director of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., a vocal anti-vaccine advocate, says it aims to end ADHD, autism, and other chronic health conditions with “fresh thinking on nutrition, physical activity, healthy lifestyles, over-reliance on medication and treatments, the effects of new technological habits, environmental impacts, and food and drug quality and safety.”Almost immediately, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) condemned what it called the stigmatizing language and stated purpose of the commission, which established a 100-day mission to:“We know from the evidence and from our own clinical practice that the psychiatric drugs mentioned in the order, when prescribed and used as directed by properly trained psychiatrists, are safe, effective, and in some cases, lifesaving,” wrote APA CEO and Medical Director Marketa M.
