Sarah Ferguson was all smiles as she took to the stage at the Global Citizen NOW: Melbourne & Global Citizen Night. For the occasion, the Duchess of York, 64, donned a black dress and leather jacket, which she paired with some tights and black boots.
Her attendance at the event comes after she was told there has been no further spread of her skin cancer since her worrying diagnosis was revealed in January.
Sarah discovered she had skin cancer - the same diagnosis as her late father Major Ronald Ferguson - less than a year after facing breast cancer.
While she must continue to be vigilant and undergo regular 12-week check-ups, Sarah's prognosis has been described as the "best possible outcome." A friend told the Mail that Sarah had just learned that her lymph nodes were all "free of cancer" and doctors believe there has been no spread of the disease. The insider added: "She's undergone further surgery following the melanoma diagnosis to examine the area around the mole that was found to be malignant and her lymph nodes,' the duchess' friend explained. "The good news is that these have all been found to be free of cancer so it looks like there has been no spread of the disease and the prognosis is good, though she'll have to have regular check-ups going forward.
