Schools will not reopen after Easter and will only re-open once UK's strict coronavirus lockdown measures have been lifted, according to government officials.
The national lockdown, which has been in place for the last two weeks, was to be reviewed on Easter Monday but has now been postponed.
A government minister had this week suggested to The Times that schools could reopen after the Easter holidays. But different government sources have denied this, and have maintained it is too early to make decisions, reports The Sun.
They said schools were in “exactly the same position as everyone else in the country” in terms of having lockdown restrictions lifted.
