The number of coronavirus deaths in the UK has reached 233

The number of people who have died in the UK after contracting coronavirus has reached 233 today. The death toll in England jumped by 53 in 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 220.

There are now 5,018 were confirmed positive cases in the UK - up from  3,983 yesterday. NHS England said in a statement: “A further 53 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19), have died – bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 220. “Patients were aged between 41 and 94 years old and all had underlying health conditions.” In the last 24 hours a further two people have died in Wales after contracting coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths there to five.
