Covid-19, flu, RSV and norovirus - a threat that NHS chiefs have called the 'quad-demic' - are all spreading across the country as winter viruses continue to take hold.
The UK Health Security Agency has revealed there were up to 1,069 confirmed cases of Covid in the week up to December 11. Although this is a 1.6 pc decrease from the week before.
Deaths and hospital admissions due to Covid have also increased. The other viruses in the quad-demic are hitting the rest of the UK in full effect too, with the number of flu patients in hospital beds higher than any recent winter nationally.
Meanwhile, according to the numbers published at the end of last week, hospital admissions for flu in Greater Manchester have surged two-and-a-half times in just 20 days.
