Boris Johnson admitted 'shaking hands with patients' before coronavirus diagnosis

Boris Johnson claimed he was shaking hands with coronavirus patients just weeks before he himself tested positive for the illness.

Today the Prime Minister revealed he has entered self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19. Only weeks ago, the PM had insisted people would be 'pleased to know' the coronavirus threat would not stop him greeting hospital patients with a handshake.

In early March, Britain's leader said he had shaken the hands of everyone at a hospital where infected patients were being treated 'the other night'.

Some have labelled the PM an 'imbecile' in light of his diagnosis just weeks after he made the handshake comment. He did not say which one, but the comments were made after the PM's surprise late-night visit
