Dr Hilary Jones has controversially claimed face masks are 'useless' to the public. The government previously insisted there was no scientific benefit to mask wearing but Sir Patrick Vallance yesterday said the stance is under review and may be changed.

On today's Good Morning Britain, Dr Hilary hit back by claiming face masks can actually do harm and transmit coronavirus. When Susanna Reid asked why Britain was holding back, the GMB doctor admitted the science is "controversial".

He admitted they can be "detrimental" and only serve psychological benefits to the public as the virus can "drive a bus" through a mask.
