New research has discovered that menopausal women who consume 30 different types of plants a week have seen a significant improvement in their physical and psychological symptoms.

The study, carried out by King's College London and the science and nutrition firm Zoe, tracked 70,000 UK-based participants for an average of seven months, encouraging them to adhere to a plant-based diet.Participants recorded the severity of 20 key menopause symptoms and rated them out of 100 based on how much they impacted their lives.

The results showed a substantial reduction in symptoms for both postmenopausal women (those who have stopped having periods) and perimenopausal women (those still menstruating but experiencing hormonal changes).Negative mood swings, anxiety, and depression decreased by 35% in perimenopausal women, while other symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, and sleep difficulties were reportedly reduced by 32%.

Night sweats, hot flushes, and chills also decreased by 30%.For postmenopausal women, the first list of symptoms decreased by 44%, while the second was noted as 38%.
