'I lived with pain for nine years before my diagnosis - I wasn't taken seriously'

A mum who was told her hip pain was 'nothing to worry about' before being diagnosed with cancer said she 'wasn't taken seriously enough' by medics.

Sue Taylor first went to hospital around nine years ago with pain in her hip. She was given paracetamol and sent for an MRI scan, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The scan showed the the 39-year-old, from Liverpool, had some tumours on her hips, but doctors told her that these were benign and 'nothing to worry about'.

Nine years after the initial MRI scan, a new MRI revealed a 15cm tumour in her hip area - and Sue was later diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer.
