King Charles has been hospitalized. On Thursday (March 27), Buckingham Palace announced that the 76-year-old monarch has cancelled his public engagements for Friday after experiencing temporary side effects due to his ongoing cancer treatment. King Charles first announced his cancer diagnosis in February 2024. Keep reading to find out more…“Tomorrow, he was due to undertake four public engagements in Birmingham and is greatly disappointed to be missing them on this occasion,” the palace’s shared in a statement with BBC. “He very much hopes that they can be rescheduled in due course and offers his deepest apologies to all those who had worked so hard to make the planned visit possible.” The statement added that the undisclosed side effects required a short period of observation in the hospital, but King Charles has since returned home to Clarence House, where is continuing to work on state papers and make calls. King Charles was scheduled to travel to Birmingham for a busy day of royal engagements, which included making an appearance at the city’s Royal Ballet.
