Linda Robson has revealed tragic details about Pauline Quirke's dementia diagnosis. The Birds of a Feather star was diagnosed with the incurable disease in 2021, her husband Steve Sheen confirmed last month.The 65-year-old, who played Sharon Theodopolopodous in the hit BBC series, has "stepped away from all commercial and professional duties" to spend more time with her family as a result.The mother-of-two, also known for her roles in Emmerdale, Broadchurch and The Sculptress, starred in Birds of a Feather alongside Loose Women panellist Linda Robson.Shortly after the announcement was made, Linda penned a heartfelt message about Pauline's "terrible illness" on Instagram.
The 66-year-old said it was "the only time she would speak on behalf of her best friend". However, now, Linda has broken her short-term silence to give a sad update on her former co-star on the TV Choice Awards red carpet.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror on Monday, Linda said: "I knew about Pauline’s diagnosis for three years and it has been tough.
I kept in touch with her husband Steve the whole time and she’s being really looked after."We FaceTime a lot but she doesn't say too much, we’re always in contact and I’m seeing her next week.
