Manchester United have come up with an alternative plan to player wage cuts as coronavirus hits the club’s income, a path taken by rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

COVID-19 has seen the Premier League suspended for the foreseeable future, with plans to play games in the summer. This would see games played behind closed doors over the summer as the organisation looks to finish the season.

It has seen some clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal, create plans to make players take a 10 per cent pay cut. But the Telegraph reports that United have a different solution to the problem.

The club will absorb losses to their match day income for the season with existing revenue rather than using player wage deferrals or cuts to soften the blow.
