The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK has risen by 714 to 3,983. That's the biggest leap in cases in a single day so far.

The Department of Health says 177 people who contracted coronavirus have died in the UK - an increase of 33 from the same time yesterday.

Nearly 67,000 tests have been carried out in the UK. Testing is being prioritised for those who are at the most risk, while people with mild symptoms of Covid-19 are being told to self-isolate at home.

The government has said it is 'ramping up' testing so that around 25,000 tests can be carried out each day. The latest figures were announced as Boris Johnson ordered pubs, restaurants, gyms and leisure centres to close to the public from tonight.
