MTV star in hospital after horror fall from revolving stage which has damaged eyesight

Spanish singer and TV personality Mario Vaquerizo suffered a terrifying fall from a revolving stage, leaving him unconscious.The 50 year old entertainer took a severe tumble, admitting he "could have died or been left paralysed" in the frightening incident.

After twisting backwards and falling headfirst, Mario was rushed to hospital, having been seen struggling in his platform shoes while performing with his group, Nancys Rubias.The Mexican-born singer-songwriter was later spotted leaving a hospital near Spain's western border with Portugal in a wheelchair.

Speaking from his Madrid home, Mario revealed he had fractured two vertebrae in his spine, but it's the impact on his vision that is causing him the most concern.

According to the Mail Online, he said: "The doctors have said the fall generated a liquid which invaded the retina and at the moment everything's blurred and I can't see anything close-up.
