A teenage boy has died after being hit by a taxi in a Scots town. The horror incident took place on Main Street in Rutherglen at around 4.10pm on Tuesday, 5 November, and involved a black Mercedes Vito taxi and a male pedestrian.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the 16-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he tragically died on Saturday, 9 November.
A 58-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and released pending further enquiries. The road was closed until around 8.15pm to allow for an investigation at the scene.
