A cancer patient has revealed that her surgery to remove a four-centimetre mass from her brain was cancelled this week due to the global IT glitch.

Chantelle Mooney, 41, was scheduled for a craniotomy on Friday, July 19, but the operation was called off due to issues arising from a software update that caused major problems worldwide.

Chantelle was diagnosed with stage 4B terminal cervical cancer in February 2022, which later spread to her lungs. Three weeks ago, she was informed that a mass had also been discovered in her brain after she began experiencing weakness on one side of her body.

Originally scheduled for Thursday, her surgery was rescheduled to Friday at Royal Preston Hospital, Lancashire. She arrived at the hospital on Friday morning, expecting to undergo surgery at 10am.
