Bread is a staple in your diet, especially if you eat toast and sandwiches. However, a nutritionist has shared the one type of bread that's better for your body.
Vanessa Kimbell, founder of the sourdough school and a specialist in bread nutrition, imparted her wisdom on Dr Tim Spector's ZOE YouTube channel on shopping for bread that's truly good for you.
She advised treating bread selection with the same discerning eye as fine wine."Never pick up a bread without looking at the label and turning it over to look at the list of ingredients," she said, remarking that an undecipherable ingredient list is a definite no-go. "The second you see an extremely long list of things you cannot pronounce so you do not recognise put it down.
It doesn't matter what the label says on the front put it back."Kimbell also disclosed a rather shocking industry secret, alleging that the 'freshly baked bread' sold in some supermarkets could be a year old. "Those breads that they make on the premises don't have a label and they just put them in bags and you've got no real idea what's in them," she claimed."It's all a big con because that bread is often a year old...
