Staff at Manchester's biggest NHS trust claim they have been left unable to access key patient data and forced to take paper notes following 'repeated' system outages over the last week.
Sources told the Manchester Evening News they had been instructed not to access the patient record system Hive 'multiple times' since last Tuesday (November 26).
They claimed the repeated outage had led to cancelled appointments and surgeries, and forced them to take paper notes which will now need to be individually scanned back into the system.
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) said a 'hardware fault' was addressed over the weekend, but their accident and emergency departments remained open and patients were instructed to attend appointments as normal.
