A rock and roll performer who was struggling to watch TV discovered he had stage four cancer after an eye test - and now needs £46,000 per treatment to stay alive.
Michael Sixsmith, 62, started getting blurred vision in his right eye and was stunned to discover he had stage four cancer which had spread to his liver.
Michael was initially given just 12 months to live and said it took him three months to get his head around. He added: "It's been hard to accept that it's happening to me but I’m going to keep going and keep playing doing rock and roll, and all the things I love, as long as I can." Michael, from Rossendale, Lancashire, added: “I went to the opticians and they found a cataract and referred me to SpaMedica in Bolton and they noticed something unusual in the retina of my right eye.” READ MORE: Girl, 9, 'dragged two metres under car' and left needing facial reconstruction after horrific crash He went to St Paul’s Eye Hospital in Liverpool, where specialists discovered a melanoma growing in his retina.
