Piers Morgan has found out how he managed to mistake particularly bad hay fever for coronavirus. The GMB host, who has tested negative for the deadly bug, was convinced he'd contracted it after exhibiting symptoms like lethargy, a shortness of breath and a resulting cough.
Last night he appealed to Twitter followers to explain why his hay fever has been worse than ever this year - and revealing it was the reason he thought he'd had coronavirus.
He and co-host Susanna Reid sought the wisdom of GMB's Dr Hilary to help them determine hay fever from COVID. Dr Hilary told that it has been an especially dry May, and that the lessened pollution amid lockdown meant was a factor in a higher pollen count.
