Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

PIERS Morgan is keen for a role in BBC cop drama Line Of Duty after his interrogation of MP Helen Whately on GMB was praised by the show's creator.

Writer Jed Mercurio took to Twitter yesterday suggesting Superintendent Ted Hastings could do with channelling Piers's tenacity.

He posted: "If Emily Maitlis was channelling Kate Fleming, then in #LineofDuty6 Ted Hastings needs to channel @piersmorgan." It didn't go unnoticed by Piers, who brought up the post on today's Good Morning Britain and declared: "I am available!" He told viewers: "So, yesterday Jed Mercurio pops up on Twitter.

He was watching our exchange with Helen Whately yesterday and he suddenly realised my interrogating skills reminded him of his own show.
