Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has proved you're never too old to have your mum defend you amid a row with Alan Sugar.The 55 year old Good Morning Britain star was backed by his mother, Gabrielle O'Meara, after he was labelled as an “utter disgrace” by The Apprentice star.

Lord Sugar, 73, tweeted Piers to criticise him over his grilling of Safeguarding Minister Victoria Atkins over her lack of knowledge on the government pandemic crisis plan Exercise Cygnus as she appeared on the show on Tuesday 29 April.

As he replied to a tweet about Piers’ interview with Victoria, 44, Lord Sugar scathed: “You are a utter disgrace @piersmorgan I don't know who the hell you think you are on your self appointed tirade against the GOV. [sic]" Alan then brought Piers’ mother.
