Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan blasts 'rattled' Matt Hancock and Government's 'confusing' response to open airports

Piers Morgan has lashed out at the Government's Deputy Chief Medical Officer over his "confusing" response to keeping airports open in the UK during the coronavirus pandemic.

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers, 55, insisted that "nothing about Britain's airports staying open makes sense" and blasted Professor Jonathan Van-Tam's reply.

During the daily COVID-19 briefing earlier today, the professor was asked why arrivals to the UK aren't being screened. He replied that there is a "basic problem" because it could take up to 12 hours to fly to the UK but the incubation period for the virus is up to 14 days.

However Piers was left baffled by the response and tweeted: "What does this even mean? "Nothing about Britain's airports staying open
