Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Dr Hilary stuns Piers Morgan with coronavirus hospital survival numbers

Dr Hilary left his Good Morning Britain co-star Piers Morgan stunned by revealing the “stark” survival rate figures of those suffering from coronavirus in hospitals.

Piers asked Dr Hilary what the survival rate of the deadly virus was, saying we “often hear about the death figures” but never about those who have overcome Covid-19 in hospital.

Dr Hilary then explained the figures to his co-hosts Piers and Susanna Reid, who said the rates were “utterly tragic”. Piers said during Thursday’s episode of the ITV show: "It's quite important to talk about the death toll a lot - and rightly because people have been losing their lives in large numbers.
