Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

On Thursday's episode of Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan said that he expected there would be fewer babies being born in nine months despite the coronavirus lockdown.

While many people have joked that there will be a baby boom towards the end of the year and into 2021, due to couples being in lockdown together.

However Piers suggested that people will actively avoid getting pregnant to stop them having to go into hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said: "I have a feeling people will avoid getting pregnant." The ITV regular went on to say: "You might think baby boom because of lockdown, but I think it will be the opposite." This is a live TV story and is being updated as soon as possible.
