Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has been hounded with death threats as furious viewers demand Good Morning Britain bosses sack him. A petition has been launched with more than 50,000 signatures to remove the controversial TV presenter from screens following complaints about his "combative" style during interviews throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

The ITV breakfast star was criticised for the way he grilled politicians and UK government ministers over the Covid-19 outbreak on air as some felt he was too aggressive.

But the talk show host slammed trolls who threatened him by announcing they were pushing his desire to take the government to task over their handling of the pandemic.
