Piers Morgan has furiously hit back at an allegation that he's "celebrating" the number of coronavirus deaths in the UK. The Good Morning Britain host wasn't happy when someone suggested he was using his platform to celebrate the nation's death toll due to COVID-19.
He had tweeted: "BREAKING: UK #coronavirus official death toll rises by 545 in past 24hrs to 35,341. * Real number of COVID-19 related deaths now believed to be 62k. * Govt no longer shows global deaths comparison chart. * UK is currently 2nd worst in the world for reported excess deaths." One Twitter user then took aim at him, replying: "545....
down from 627 last Tuesday. Moving in the right direction. Instead you’d rather celebrate the total number of deaths. Disgusting."
