Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

PIERS Morgan has hit back at a Twitter critic who accused him of celebrating the coronavirus death toll in the UK. The 55-year-old Good Morning Britain host told the user to "f**k off" in a heated online outburst yesterday.

Piers had tweeted: "BREAKING: UK #coronavirus official death toll rises by 545 in past 24hrs to 35,341. * Real number of COVID-19 related deaths now believed to be 62k. * Govt no longer shows global deaths comparison chart. * UK is currently 2nd worst in the world for reported excess deaths." One Twitter user then replied: "545....

down from 627 last Tuesday. Moving in the right direction. Instead you’d rather celebrate the total number of deaths. Disgusting." The presenter clearly wasn't happy with the follower.
