Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Television journalist Piers Morgan has been scolded by his own mother for his rant about queues for Ikea. The Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, slammed the scenes shown outside Ikea stores where customers would line up for up to four hours and snake around car parks to visit the reopened Swedish furniture giant.

Piers ranted: "You know when I said I thought people were losing their minds with coronavirus. I think the queues outside Ikea are illustrative of... "I'm all for getting the economy going, but what are you buying that is worth standing four hours in a queue in the sunshine?
