Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan faced the wrath of his beloved mum after he slammed the huge queues at IKEA. With the lockdown gradually easing in the UK, companies have started to re-open – but Piers couldn't hide his confusion over people willing to queue for hours on end for furnishings and fittings.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday morning, the acid-tongued presenter admitted he'd favour a visit to McDonald's rather than stock up "on plywood".

Piers ranted: "You know when I said I thought people were losing their minds with coronavirus. I think the queues outside Ikea are illustrative of... "I'm all for getting the economy going, but what are you buying that is worth standing four hours in a queue in the sunshine?
