Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

PIERS Morgan has revealed he's had death threats as a petition to get him sacked gained signatures - but more fans have backed a rival campaign to keep him on Good Morning Britain.

He blasted trolls on Twitter today as he continued to use the site to challenge government ministers over their handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Piers, 55, addressed his critics and said: "Memo to trolls: the more you try to silence me with foul-mouthed abuse, death threats & petitions for me to be fired, the louder & harder I will challenge the Govt over its handling of this crisis.

Lives depend on it." He addressed one user who said: "Enjoy your big garden, sip the expensive wine and give us a day off." But Piers clapped back: "I'll give you a lifetime.
