BBC presenter Stephen Nolan has updated fans after he was forced to pull out of his radio show after this mother was taken ill.
Stephen departed The Nolan Show, which he presents every weekday morning on BBC Ulster, 30 minutes early on Tuesday 8 October, after receiving news that his mum has been found collapsed on the floor.
His colleague Connor Philips Show stepped in, starting his show earlier than normal. Stephen was with his mum until late that evening, and spoke on his show the next day of the ordeal and updated listeners on his mum Audrey’s condition.
He revealed that he had been “genuinely” moved by his audience’s concern and support. "She is in hospital. I think she is going to be alright,” he said on the show. "What happened was I was presenting the show yesterday morning and I got a phone call to say my mum had been found on the floor.
