Coronation Street star Simon Gregson has been flooded with well wishes as he revealed he'd been struck down during what was set to be a busy weekend.
The actor, famed for playing Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, was sharing updates on social media as he took part in Sotheby's London to Brighton veteran car run, the world's largest gathering of veteran cars in which participants are not allowed to exceed an average speed of 20 miles per hour.
But after being excited to get started, Simon was seen facing problems during the journey when the car he had been travelling in had broken down.
He said he ended up having to drive the car by turning the fuel "on and off" before still carrying on the journey to Brighton in another car.
