They were given the devastating news he had collapsed and died. A few hours earlier, Simon Boyd, 52, rang 999 and asked for an ambulance as he was breathless.
An inquest into his death heard his request for an ambulance was cancelled. A doctor went to his flat in Heaton Moor, Stockport, but there was no answer.
