Heart rocker Ann Wilson has announced that she has been diagnosed with cancer.The musician, 74, announced on Tuesday, July 2 that she recently underwent surgery for cancer, and as a result, will take the rest of the year off.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, Ann explained why her tour had been cancelled as she shared news of her cancer diagnosis. She wrote: "Dear friends, I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous. "The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I've decided to do it. "And so many doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover." She went on to explain what would happen to those with tickets and thanked everyone for their support. "To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs.

Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on the stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted & we'll know the plan as soon as we can. "Thank you all for the support.This is merely a pause.

I've much more to sing. Love, Ann Wilson." She ended the post by adding: "Respectfully, this is the last public statement I'd like to make on the matter." Fans flooded to offer their support to the star as one wrote: "I'm a little disappointed, but that means nothing to me.
