Major road shut off with large emergency service response after woman 'fell and hit her head'

One of the main roads in Trafford was shut off for several hours yesterday after a woman fell and injured herself. It happened on Broad Road in Sale at around 11:30am.

Police and paramedics were raced to the scene with the road being taped up and closed off. A spokesperson GMP they were responding to a 'medical episode.' No more details have been released about the incident.

However the Manchester Evening News understands a woman is believed to have fallen and hit her head, before suffering a cardiac arrest. The M.E.N understands she was resucitated and was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious condition. The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) have been approached for comment.
