Kate will be replaced by Lieutenant General James Bucknall, KCB, CBE in her usual role of Inspecting Officer at the traditional Colonel’s Review “as she continues her recovery,” the spokesperson said. The Colonel’s Review ceremony always takes place one week before the Trooping the Colour ceremony. It’s unclear if the Princess of Wales will be at Trooping the Colour on June 15.

While Charles will be at Trooping the Colour, he’s expected to arrive to the event in a different fashion. The monarch — who is receiving outpatient treatment for his cancer — will be driven in a horse-drawn carriage alongside wife Queen Camilla instead of riding on horseback as he’s done in the past.

The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace for comment. This will be the royal family’s second Trooping the Colour ceremony since Charles was named king in May 2023.Nine months after the historic ceremony, Charles was diagnosed with cancer.
