Piers Morgan
Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan hits back at Good Morning Britain viewers who claim he 'made up' story

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan was forced to back up a news story, that he'd discussed on the show on Wednesday. Piers had been talking with Dr Hilary Jones about new reports that Wuhan, the Chinese city described as the epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic, is ramping up testing again.

A month on from the city declaring no new cases and reopening to residents, it was reported that a cluster of new cases were discovered over the weekend.

According to reports, there is now a 10-day battle where Wuhan plan to test all 11 million of its population to prevent a second wave.

Piers brought up the story amid the UK's easing of lockdown rules, amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Dr Hilary wasn't so sure he believed all 11 million people
