Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has hit back at online trolls who have sent him "death threats" while petitioning to get him sacked from Good Morning Britain.

Despite the 55-year-old controversial ITV presenter receiving social media hate, he's had more fans petition for him to stay on the popular morning programme.

He took to Twitter today to slam the haters as he continued to challenge government ministers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Piers shared a tweet with his 7.5m followers saying: "Memo to trolls: the more you try to silence me with foul-mouthed abuse, death threats and petitions for me to be fired, the louder and harder I will challenge the Govt over its handling of this crisis.
