Companies across Greater Manchester have remained open despite the Prime Minister's tough new coronavirus measures. Boris Johnson had faced calls for clarity after he said people should only travel to work if 'absolutely necessary,' during a broadcast on Monday night.
The Government later confirmed that it meant only people on the previously announced list of 'key workers' could go out to work.
By Tuesday morning, the Manchester Evening News had been contacted by scores of employees who had been told to go to work - despite not being deemed an essential worker.
Workers have raised issues about the risk of going to work, with some blasting companies for prioritising profit before health.
