Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA  (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Since the lockdown began on March 23 non-essential businesses have had to close down under Government orders and the nation was ordered to stay home.

In the last few weeks Boris Johnson has eased restrictions so people can return to work if they are unable to work from home and some food businesses have reopened providing its takeaway only and social distancing measures are in place.

Homeware stores have also been allowed to reopen and from Monday more non-essential stores can open their doors. In addition the new lockdown rules will allow more people to see each other but social distancing measures must be a practised at all times.
