England's lockdown eased but 'forgotten' shielded people ask when they can leave home

Vulnerable people who are 'shielding' at home amid the coronavirus lockdown must continue to stay at home despite other measures being eased in England.

Boris Johnson today told the nation that as of Monday, people will be allowed to meet in groups of six outdoors as long as they maintain the 2m distance, schools will begin to see a phased return, and outdoor markets and car showrooms will open in England.

But during the daily press conference this afternoon, a member of the public asked how and when the lockdown would be eased for the extremely vulnerable.

Jay, 33, from Horsham, who is shielding with her 10-year-old son, also told the Downing Street briefing she felt that people like her had been forgotten.
