Woman rushed to hospital after being struck by car with road taped off

A woman was rushed to hospital after being struck down by a car on a main road on Sunday night (October 27). Police and paramedics were called to Ashton Road (A627) between Oldham and Ashton-under-Lyne following reports of the collision.

The road was taped off in both directions near to Smokies Park for a number of hours, with a white car also pictured within the cordon.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police could be seen conducting enquiries at the scene. The pedestrian, a woman, was rushed to hospital from the scene. No arrests have been made and investigations remain ongoing. Pictures from the scene showed the white Toyota vehicle on the left of the road.
