Young Scots mum dies from rare cancer as tributes flood in for 'beautiful warrior'

A brave Scots mum has died aged 35 following a courageous battle against cancer.Tributes have flooded in for mum-of-one Stephanie Thomson after she passed away on Saturday (July 20) following the "biggest fight of her life" after being diagnosed with an incredibly rare cancer last September.

The award-winning hairdresser had been battling extrarenal rhabdoid tumour – a rare cancer normally found in children - before she heartbreakingly lost her fight at the weekend.Stephanie's mum, Yvonne, told of how "there is no love like a mother's" and wanted to highlight the overwhelming amount of love she had for her son, who meant the world to her.Yvonne added: "I lost my amazing, gorgeous, courageous, thoughtful, strong warrior daughter to the dreaded cancer."She put up the biggest fight of her life and was determined to beat it.

I had the privilege to call her my Steph."My heart will be forever broken. RIP, my girl."The much-loved mum previously spoke with Glasgow Live about her illness and determination to "try anything" in regards to alternative cancer treatment so that she could spend more time with her loved ones, including her son Logan who she adored.However, sadly due to the rarity of her cancer, Stephanie was unable to access life-saving medical trials.Her nearest and dearest have been left utterly heartbroken by her death and have paid tribute to the "beautiful warrior".Tributes flooded in on social media over the weekend with the news of Stephanie's passing sending shockwaves through the community.One person wrote: "Absolutely devastated to see you gained your wings but you put up one hell of a fight.
