Boy, 5, and his mum rushed to hospital with serious injuries in horror crash

A five-year-old boy and his mum were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a horror crash in Warrington on Friday (August 30).

Emergency services descended on Birchwood Way at around 9.35pm to reports of a two-car collision, involving a black Honda Jazz and black Skoda Roomster.

The two occupants of the Honda, a boy, aged five, and 35-year-old woman, understood to be his mum, suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital for treatment. An investigation has been launched by Cheshire Police. The force is now urging any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, including those with dashcam footage of the vehicles in the minutes before the major crash.
