Scots police chiefs have warned pubs they face being ‘dealt with appropriately’ if they continue to stay open after they were told to shut amid the coronavirus crisis.
Boris Johnson announced that clubs, restaurants and pubs should close by Friday evening as the Government laid down strict new legislation to deal with the growing number of Covid-19 cases in the UK.
The extraordinary proposals came after the number of people testing positive for the deadly coronavirus in the UK had risen to over 4,000.
Police Scotland Chief Constable Iain Livingstone thanked the majority of people who have since observed the Government instruction while issuing out a warning to those who are considering keeping their doors open over the coming days.
