The coronavirus death toll in the United Kingdom has soared by 393 to 1,801, up from 1,408 the day before in the biggest one-day increase.
NHS England has confirmed a further 367 have been killed by Covid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours. Earlier today First Minister Nicola Sturgeon had confirmed there have been 13 more deaths in Scotland, taking its death toll to 60.
Public Health Wales also announced another seven people died, taking its total to 69, while Northern Ireland's death toll rose by six to 28.
The figures now mean it is the biggest one-day increase in the UK's death toll figure so far. Yesterday saw another 180 people killed by the virus, including 159 in England, 14 in Wales, six in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland.
